James E. Ritch

Board Member


James has more than thirty years of experience working in the Mexican and international legal services arena and social change sector. In his law practice, he focuses in the antitrust, finance, and merger and acquisition areas. In the law firm where he practices, he has also worked in developing its pro bono program, which has supported the development of several nonprofits and other initiatives that have generated a positive impact in Mexico. Besides his law practice, he has constantly advocated for social causes such as environmental, human rights, social justice, and social entrepreneurship.

James is the former chairman of the board of directors of Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental, A.C., a leading Mexican environmental defense non-profit organization and is a co-founder and former chairman of the board of directors of Conservación Humana, A.C., a Mexican non-profit organization that works with the indigenous cultures of Mexico. James is also a member of the board of directors of Sistema B México, Centro Mexicano Pro Bono (a Mexican clearinghouse of legal pro bono cases) and Red Turismo Sustentable y Desarrollo Social, A.C., a non-governmental organization based in La Paz, Baja California Sur that works in regenerative tourism and economies.
